Speech Content

Based on how American students keep fit, Professor Zhu briefed the audience on popular fitness trends at home and abroad. He identified obesity as a major threat to human health by citing a number of acute and chronic disease cases. Meanwhile, he introduced key methodologies to diagnose obesity, such as measuring the levels of sebum and DXA. People are trying a number of effective ways to lose weight, but the most immediate and perhaps the most counterproductive and unhealthy approaches are liposuction and dieting. In fact, obesity is primarily attributed to excessive energy intake and inadequate energy consumption. The Professor thus cited solid research findings to further demonstrate the basic human need for sports and energy from the perspective of evolutionism. However, man-made environments that minimize energy consumption and maximize energy intake have posed the greatest threat to human health imperceptibly for a long time.
